I am a band musician, I have been playing in a band since I was fourteen years old. My father used to play the trumpet. It is a very odd job as you have to perform in a very mechanical manner. I have always thought that my music is the complete opposite of what I do. I do not play music but I make noise. Music to me is an expression of the soul, and an expression can never be converted into a job. I play at military exercises, wedding functions, and inaugurations and when I’m wearing that suite I am like a soldier on a duty and I am not a musician. When I come back home, I play for myself and that for me is music. Music doesn’t need an audience, it doesn’t need an occasion. It is the expression of feeling conveyed through sound and notation, and we as human beings we’re always feeling things. Music is a celebration of being a human being, and I intend to keep it that way. I’ll keep on playing like a soldier and like a musician and this is my story.
