Saqib Ali Kazmi, is an entrepreneur hailing from Karachi. Presently, he runs an online fashion business and also provides IT solutions to financial institutions. His work paved the way for a computerised system, for dispute resolution, in central banks in Pakistan. As a result, disputes that took up to thirty days can now be solved in 3 days. However, it is not Saqib Ali’s entrepreneurial skills that landed him a spot as an unsung hero of Pakistan. His project, “Mera Karachi, Meri Zimadari”, is the perfect example of people owning up to their responsibilities, as citizens of a country. Saqib believes that when we talk about social responsibility, we pin the task on politicians and the ruling elite alone, but all of us have an individual role to play in the betterment of our country as well. Owing to this belief, Saqib focused on two main problems being faced by the people of Sindh: education and provision of clean water.

Saqib and his team established a school in Thatta, Sindh. The school educates 140 children who are provided with free education, books, uniform, and language training. Saqib’s altruism is not limited to setting up a school. Shortly after the school was made, he setup solar panels and now the village benefits from free electricity.
